The money is collected by the company of Lukashenka’s “court” businessman.
At checkpoints on the Belarusian border they began to charge money for disinfection of vehicles, writes Smartpress. Special stations started working on September 1; until September 16, the service was free.
Disinfection stations are available at all checkpoints on the border with Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. All transport entering Belarus must undergo this procedure. This is provided for by Lukashenka’s decree, and the BelGlobalGarant company of a businessman close to him, Siarhei Tsiatseryn, has been entrusted with the matter.
Disinfection of a passenger car costs 2 rubles, a bus — 30, a truck — 95. For now, you can only pay from insurers and banks at the border, but they are soon planning to accept payments through the United Payment and Information Space and by card at a self-service terminal.
The official purpose of this mandatory paid procedure is called “reducing the risk of importing pathogens of dangerous infections and bacteria into the country.”
Now in Belarus they also charge money for traveling to neighboring EU countries. This is called a “local border crossing fee”. It amounts to one base fee — now 37 rubles.
