Ivan Franko's Great-Grandson Dies In Kyiv

Yuriy Yurachkovsky was an outstanding scientist.

On Tuesday, January 2, at the age of 72 years, great-grandson of Ivan Franko - Yuri Yurachkovsky died in Kyiv. This was reported by representatives of the museum of House of Franko.

"Yesterday Zenovia Franko's son, great-grandson of Ivan Franko, Yuriy Yurachkovsky passed away. We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. We mourn with you," the House of Franko said.

Yuriy Yurachkovsky was born in 1951, graduated from Shevchenko University, worked as a senior engineer at the Institute of Gerontology, and then as a senior researcher at the Institute of Cybernetics of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In 2001 he left for the USA, where he worked as a scientist for 10 years.

He also used his knowledge in sports - Yuriy was the champion and winner of the Ukrainian Sports Bridge Cup. In New York he took second place at the local championship.

It is known that Yurachkovsky's son, named Daniel, is serving in the AFU.
