Demands To ‘Show Statkevich’ In Brussels

There has been no news from the political prisoner for more than a year.

Relatives and friends received the last news from Mikalai Statkevich on February 9, 2023. There has been no information about his fate since then: there are no messages from him, letters and parcels do not reach him.

The Viasna Human Rights Center reports that the representative office of the Belarusian democratic forces in Brussels joined the action "Show Statkevich", which was initiated by the Editor-in-Chief of Charter97.org Natallia Radzina and the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (“Narodnaya Hramada ”) party.

On February 17, the wife of the political prisoner, Maryna Adamovich, reported on Facebook that she had had "no news" about her husband for 373 days.

"They returned the parcel with medicine and things once again while I was away. 1355 days behind bars," she wrote.

Adamovich was detained on January 23 during a mass raid by the enforcers. She was arrested for 15 days under Article 19.1 of the Administrative Code (minor hooliganism).
