Polish Police Officers On Border With Belarus Given Weapons

  • 7.06.2024, 18:44

Due to threats from illegal migrants.

In Poland, police officers on duty at the Polish-Belarusian border must carry personal weapons from Friday.

This became known to rmf24.pl.

According to journalists, the decision was made in connection with an assessment of the situation on the spot.

The reason for this decision was the aggravation of the situation at the border, where illegals have increasingly attacked Polish police officers and stormed the border fence.

On June 6, a Polish soldier died after being wounded at the Polish-Belarusian border.

He was wounded on May 28 at about 4:30. The incident occurred during an attempt to break through a group of 50 migrants who were throwing branches and stones towards Polish patrols. A border guard provided first aid to the victim. At the same time, the migrants continued to behave aggressively, attacking the wounded man and the officer who was helping him. The border guards closed them with their service cars.

The border guard also published photos of a stick with a knife that a border guard took away during another incident related to the attack.
