The only month worse for the occupiers was December 2024.

British intelligence has stated that January 2025 was the second worst month for Russia in terms of personnel losses after December, and the Russians are expected to continue losing an average of more than 1,000 people per day.

This is stated in the intelligence review of the UK Ministry of Defense dated February 5.

British intelligence, based on figures provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated that January 2025 was the second worst month for Russian personnel losses (48,240 killed and wounded), almost equaling the record figures of December 2024 (48,640 killed and wounded).

On average, the Russians lost 1,556 people per day, according to statistics provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (in December — 1,570).

At the moment, the losses of the Russian military since the beginning of the year have probably exceeded 50 thousand people, and since the beginning of the full-scale war — 837 thousand.

“The average losses of Russians in February 2025 will probably continue to be more than 1,000 people per day, reflecting the high pace of operations and offensive actions of the Russian Federation,” the review notes.
