Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has signed Decree No. 657/2025 appointing Evgeniy Khmara head of the Special Operations Center "A" of the Security Service of Ukraine.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Decree No. 657/2025 of the head of state.

The document officially approves Khmara for a senior position in one of the key SBU units responsible for special operations and strategic measures to ensure the security of the state.

The appointment takes effect from the moment the decree is signed by the president of Ukraine.

What is known about Yevhen Khmara

According to public data, not much is known about Khmara's career. What is known is that in March 2019, the fifth ex-president of Ukraine Peter Poroshenko awarded him the Order of Daniil Galitsky.

The distinction was awarded for personal services in strengthening national security, courage, high professionalism and exemplary performance of official duty on the occasion of the Day of the Security Service of Ukraine.

The SBU's Center "A" performs a wide range of tasks - from counter-terrorist operations to special missions in the interests of national security.
