European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen after a conversation with US President Donald Trump said she will strengthen joint efforts to increase economic pressure on Russia

Ursula von der Leyen said this on social media X.

Von der Leyen said the conversation with Trump was "good."

She said the European Commission will soon present its 19th package of sanctions, targeting cryptocurrencies, banks and energy.

"Russia's war economy, supported by fossil fuel revenues, is financing the bloodshed in Ukraine. To end this, the Commission will propose to accelerate the phase-out of fossil fuel imports from Russia," she wrote.
