Zelensky: Ukraine Will Be Fully Ready For EU Accession In 2027

Ukraine will be fully ready to join the European Union in 2027. It is important to spell out the date of accession in the end-of-war agreement to obtain clear security guarantees, President Vladimir Zelensky said at a joint press conference with the presidents of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda and Poland Karol Nawrocki at a press conference in Vilnius.

Technically, Ukraine will be ready to open all clusters as early as the first half of 2026. Full technical readiness for accession is planned to be achieved in 2027, the head of state noted.

"We want the 27th year. We are talking about a specific date when Ukraine will be ready," Zelensky said.

He said that EU membership is part of European security guarantees for Ukraine together with the "Coalition of the willing." The president emphasized that these are first of all economic security guarantees.

"We want a specific date in our treaty on the end of the war, so that then all parties adhere to these agreements, including the aggressor, who will sign up to the 20-point plan, if such a moment comes, in order that then no one blocks us anymore," Zelensky said.
