It will be incorporated into the Labor Code.

Belarus plans to amend its labor laws to include a provision that will allow pregnant employees to legally take time off work to undergo mandatory medical tests and visit doctors. Anzhelika Kurchak , a member of the so-called “tent” , announced this on state television.

According to her, the idea arose in response to actual complaints from citizens. She recounted that during a meeting with constituents, a man approached her with a complaint: his pregnant wife’s employer was refusing to allow her to go to the clinic during work hours.

Kurchak noted that the current version of the Labor Code contains no provision regulating the granting of time off from work for routine medical examinations.

“We have already preliminarily discussed this issue in our relevant committees. I have also discussed the matter with the Ministry of Health. I hope that when this bill reaches us, I will initiate the addition of such a provision to our Labor Code,” the so-called deputy noted.
