The agreement to supply diesel fuel from Russia to the United States will not be implemented.

Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius criticized the announced agreement between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding diesel fuel. He called it shameful and expressed doubt that the agreement would ever be implemented, writes Sky News.

In comments to the publication, Sinkevičius noted that he hopes Trump can still be trusted following his change in stance toward Putin.

When asked whether Europe should act independently, he emphasized the need to do everything possible and rely first and foremost on its own strength.

“Governments and politicians come and go, but relationships remain,” added the Lithuanian prime minister.

Commenting on the agreement between Trump and Putin regarding diesel fuel, Sinkevičius voiced sharp criticism and noted that he had no confirmation that it had been officially formalized.

“We’re not proud of this. It’s disgraceful, shameful… I’m not even sure if this agreement will be implemented at all or if it’s just a political statement,” he said.

According to the Lithuanian prime minister, he has not seen a written document confirming this agreement, only social media posts.

“I haven’t seen a single agreement—no written agreement—I’ve only seen social media posts… not the agreement itself,” Sinkevičius emphasized.
