Hungary welcomed this decision.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law guaranteeing the educational rights of Ukraine’s indigenous peoples and national minorities. The Verkhovna Rada adopted this bill on October 12.

This is confirmed by the bill’s details page on the parliament’s website.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orbán welcomed the adoption of the law and called it the result of many months of joint work and constructive dialogue between Kyiv and Budapest.

She wrote about this on the social media platform X after meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga in Luxembourg, which took place on the sidelines of the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting.

Orbán also thanked the Ukrainian side and called for continued cooperation in this area.

Earlier, the Hungarian minister stated that the adoption of the law would allow Budapest to unblock the opening of two negotiation clusters—the second and third—as part of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

This issue is scheduled to be discussed on October 13 during the Ukraine–EU Intergovernmental Conference in Luxembourg.
