Four-time Olympic champion Alexander Tikhonov of Russia Alexander Tikhonov recounted how he went hunting with the eight-time Olympic champion from Norway, the husband of Daria Domracheva Ole Einar Bjørndalen, in Kamchatka, according to RIA Novosti.

“When Bjørndalen was in Kamchatka, we set him up!” Tikhonov recalled.

He shared this story: “I’m standing below, watching, and a bear is charging at him. Ole shoots, shoots, but the bear just keeps coming. With about twenty meters to go, I fired a shot, hit it in the shoulder blade, and the beast collapsed,” Tikhonov said, describing his marksmanship.

This was apparently in 2011. That spring, the world’s top biathletes gathered in Kamchatka to participate in the Vitaly Fatyanov Memorial Tournament, which took place from April 14 to 16.
