The black smoke can be seen from kilometers away.
On Tuesday, October 13, a fire broke out at the “Aksaykardandetal” factory in the Russian city of Aksakaya (Rostov Region). The company is the leading manufacturer of cardan shafts and joints in Russia.
Eyewitnesses are sharing photos from the scene online, according to Dialog.UA.
There is currently no information available regarding the cause of the fire. Local authorities and the media have so far remained silent.
Meanwhile, the fire has spread to an area of more than 800 square meters, and efforts to bring it under control have been unsuccessful. The fire has reportedly engulfed the warehouse facilities. A column of black smoke has risen above “Aksaykardan Detail,” visible from kilometers away.
Judging by the published footage, the consequences will be very serious.
The International Intelligence Community InformNapalm commented on the situation. It noted that “Aksaykardan-Detal” is a machine-building enterprise that specializes in the production of cardan shafts, joints, transmission assemblies, and other components for agricultural and specialized machinery. However, the plant’s production capabilities are much broader.
“In September 2025, the plant’s director Vyacheslav Pokrovsky spoke about modernizing production through the purchase of South Korean and Chinese machine tools. He also confirmed that the company is expanding its machining operations and can produce components for other industrial sectors. Why is this interesting in the context of the Russian defense-industrial complex? Cardan shafts, joints, and other mechanical assemblies are used not only in civilian vehicles but also in military vehicles and specialized equipment. The available technologies allow the company to potentially fulfill dual-use orders,” InformNapalm noted.
