Austria Expels Four Russian Diplomats

The Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to expel four Russian diplomats.

This was reported by ORF.

Three of the diplomats being expelled by Austria are accredited to the Russian Embassy in Vienna, while another is a member of the Russian delegation to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

According to the ministry, the diplomats were engaged in activities incompatible with their diplomatic status. They were therefore declared persona non grata and ordered to leave the country.

These measures were based on intelligence gathered by security agencies, the ministry stated. No further details regarding the reasons for the expulsion were provided.
