Melania Trump herself initiated the negotiations regarding Oleshky.

U.S. President Donald Trump, commenting on the agreement to evacuate civilians from Russian-occupied Oleshky, where people are suffering from hunger, said that the First Lady is primarily trying to save the children.

This was reported by the Ukrainian service of “Voice of America”.

“She wants to save the children. That’s where she’s focused her attention. And both sides are cooperating with her. She’s doing a great job,” said the U.S. president.

According to Trump, Melania was the first to initiate negotiations regarding Oleshky: “This is her initiative. She reached out to both sides, and both sides agreed to it.”

According to him, she negotiated a ceasefire “in a very difficult situation.”

On October 23, the White House reported that U.S. First Lady Melania Trump had secured a local ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, which provides for a temporary cessation of hostilities in the city of Oleshky.
