All key substations on the peninsula have been put out of service.
On the night of October 24, a large-scale power outage occurred throughout the temporarily occupied Crimea, a large-scale power outage occurred. The occupying authorities claim that the peninsula’s energy infrastructure has been damaged.
According to preliminary reports, the entire Crimea was left without power as a result of the disabling of all key substations on the peninsula. This was reported by the OSINT channel Exilenova+.
“A blackout has occurred in Crimea; key substations have been taken out of service. The entire peninsula is without power,” analysts write.
The monitoring channel “Crimean Wind” reported, citing eyewitnesses, that the power went out instantly, particularly in major cities. Widespread power outages were observed in Sevastopol, Simferopol, Yalta, Feodosia, Dzhankoy, Alushta, Yevpatoria, and other cities. Prior to this, as reported by the public group, in the Bagero area near Kerch, active fire from enemy mobile fire teams targeting unknown targets in the sky was heard, and at least four explosions were heard in the Pervomaisky District of Crimea.
Shortly thereafter, the so-called “governor” of occupied Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhayev confirmed the power outage in the city. The pro-Russian official stated that the blackouts in the city were caused by alleged strikes on Crimea’s energy infrastructure outside of Sevastopol.
“A special regime has been implemented at facilities, and public services have switched to backup power supplies,” Razvozhayev said.
In addition, the official assured that emergency services are already working to resolve the situation. Razvozhayev urged Sevastopol residents to conserve battery power on their smartphones and other gadgets.
At the same time, Kryuchkov, an “advisor” to Crimea’s “governor” Sergey Aksyonov, reported an accident at an energy facility that allegedly occurred outside the peninsula. OSINT analysts speculate that this refers to a 500 kV substation in Taman, Russia, which had previously been targeted in strikes that caused a large-scale blackout in Crimea.
In addition, “Crimean Wind” reported power outages in the temporarily occupied areas of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions last night.
