In The U.S., Trump's Deal With Putin Was Dealt A Blow By The "Reagan Bill"

The bill has been submitted to Congress for consideration.
Republican Congressmen Brian Fitzpatrick and Don Bacon, along with Democratic Congresswoman Marie Glusenkamp Perez, introduced a bill “Peace Through Strength in the Name of Ronald Reagan,” which would ban the import of Russian diesel fuel and ensure that Washington continues to share intelligence with Ukraine.
Republican Fitzpatrick wrote about this on his page on X. He notes that the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s decision to allow the import of Russian diesel fuel undermines a bipartisan law passed by Congress in 2022 to cut off funding for Putin’s war machine.
“Today, together with Congressmen Don Bacon and Marie Glusenkamp, Perez introduced the bill 'Peace Through Strength in the Name of Ronald Reagan,' which aims to repeal this exemption, ensure compliance with the existing ban, and protect critical U.S. intelligence support for Ukraine,” the congressman said.
The lawmaker emphasized that not a single drop of Russian oil should enter the U.S. as long as Putin continues his brutal war against Ukraine.
“We cannot support Ukraine while simultaneously opening our markets to Russian energy revenues that fuel Russia’s aggression,” the congressman added.
According to the politician, Washington’s message must be unambiguous: America supports Ukraine, and the laws that have been passed must be enforced.
