"Black gold" will be stored in underground tanks.

Saudi Arabia and Singapore have announced their intention to establish a joint mechanism for storing Saudi oil in underground reservoirs. This was reported by Asharq Al-Awsat.

“Saudi Arabia and Singapore announce their joint intention to establish a mechanism for storing Saudi oil in the Jurong underground storage facilities,” said Singapore’s Minister of Energy, Trade, and Industry Tan See Leng at Singapore International Energy Week.

The publication notes that this agreement enhances the resilience of the Saudi oil supply chain to Southeast Asia and also helps strengthen Singapore’s energy security and stability in the event of supply disruptions.

The underground storage tanks on Jurong Island are located at a depth of 150 meters and can hold approximately 9 million barrels of liquid hydrocarbons, such as crude oil and gas condensate.

In mid-October, the Houthis threatened to launch attacks on Saudi Aramco facilities and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh if Saudi Arabia continued its bombing campaign against Sana’a.
