  • 28.10.2026, 16:21

The official reason is age.

Police Major General Dmitry Korzuk has stepped down from his post as Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs. Lukashenko signed a decree to that effect on October 28, according to a Telegram channel close to his press service.

Korzuk was dismissed from service in the internal affairs agencies due to reaching the mandatory retirement age. He retains the right to wear the prescribed uniform and insignia.

Korzuk was born in Minsk. He has served in the internal affairs agencies since 1993: after completing his military service, he joined the force as a traffic police inspector in September of that year. He later served as a platoon commander and commander of a separate traffic police company, as well as head of the Traffic Police and Prevention Division of the Traffic Police Department under the Minsk City Executive Committee’s Main Internal Affairs Directorate. In January 2008, he became head of the Minsk Traffic Police, and in May 2016, head of the Belarusian Traffic Police.

He was appointed Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs in October 2021.
