At its previous meeting, the regulator raised the rate for the first time since July 2023.

The U.S. Federal Reserve System (Fed), which serves as the country’s central bank, kept its interest rate at 3.75–4% per annum following its October 27–28 meeting. This was stated in a press release from the regulator.

At its previous meeting, the regulator raised the rate for the first time since July 2023. Prior to that, the Fed had left the rate unchanged five times in a row.

This is the fourth meeting since the change in Fed leadership—Kevin Warsh has held the position since late May.
