A Grodno Resident Showed Off A Giant Pumpkin

The Belarusian did everything “not the way it’s described in those smart articles.”

The harvest season continues to set impressive records. This time, a resident of Grodno boasted about his achievement. The man managed to grow a giant pumpkin weighing about 150 kilograms on his plot.

As the plot’s owner explained, they decided to plant the pumpkins at the dacha at the beginning of the season. What’s more, the man used the most ordinary seeds. So no one expected such a result—nearly 150 kilograms.

“I did pollinate it late, though. And I didn’t care for them the way they describe in those expert articles. If I’d done everything by the book, I think the result would have been even better,” the publication Newgrodno.by.

The Grodno resident hasn’t decided yet what to do with the harvest. So for now, the pumpkin is more of a source of pride—and not the only one. A 50-kilogram “neighbor” is growing in the adjacent garden bed.

This isn’t the first time summer residents have boasted about “pumpkin” records. For example, two years ago, Roman from Ratomka grew a pumpkin weighing roughly 315 kilograms, and last year, a 230-kilogram record-breaker was displayed in Brest.
