The previous forecast stated that active hostilities would end by the end of 2026.

The World Bank has released a report on the European economy, in which the forecast takes into account the continuation of Russia’s military operations in Ukraine. The document has been published on the organization’s website.

“Ukraine’s recovery will be much weaker than previously projected, as it is now assumed that active hostilities will continue into 2027,” the report states.

That said, the World Bank forecasts Ukraine’s economic growth to reach 1.5% in 2027 and 3% in 2028.

In the spring, the World Bank had anticipated that the Russia-Ukraine war would end by the end of 2026, as a result of which Ukraine’s economy would grow by 4% in 2027 and 4.5% in 2028, according to the forecast.
