Tourists Are "flooding" The Baltic Region

One of the resorts has become a real hit this fall.
This year, Prague, Budapest, and Vilnius are particularly popular among international destinations. However, instead of short city trips to European capitals, some tourists are opting for a classic vacation on the Polish coast.
Although the Baltic coast is mainly associated with summer vacations, more and more people—particularly Poles—are planning their trips to the coast for the fall. Lower prices, improving hotel infrastructure, and the absence of crowds are just some of the factors attracting tourists to Western Pomerania during the off-season, according to Radio ZET.
“Many hotels, resorts, and restaurants are reporting the best fall season in the last decade. This is thanks to the excellent weather over the Baltic Sea and the fact that many establishments are offering, for example, special rates for customers,” – says Hanna Moisiuk, president of the Northern Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Szczecin .
That’s why the Baltic coast is indeed very crowded on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Here, the weather is the deciding factor: a beautiful golden autumn means crowds by the sea, but when it rains and the wind blows, the beaches and promenades empty out.
The weather draws tourists to Western Pomerania
Sunny weather is undoubtedly one of the main reasons for the successful start to fall. Everything indicates that high temperatures will persist at least through the first half of October. According to forecasts from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management, temperatures in Western Pomerania will be around 20 degrees over the next few days.
“Good weather means tourists. By the sea, this rule is perhaps the most universal. We can see that September turned out to be very favorable in terms of weather, and in Mendezdrze, Kolobrzeg, Swinoujscie, Poberowo, or Reval, there’s certainly no shortage of visitors. Of course, this is a different kind of tourism than in July,” noted Moisyuk.
According to her, in Western Pomerania, people are now more interested in walks, relaxation, and delicious meals at restaurants, and less interested in swimming in the Baltic Sea. But there comes a time when it’s not just the sea itself that draws people to the coast.
Świnoujście—a “top destination”
As the president of the Northern Chamber of Commerce and Industry acknowledges, Świnoujście remains a “top destination” in Western Pomerania even outside the summer season.
Less obvious destinations—such as Volin, Kamen-Pomorksky, or Gryfice—are also growing in popularity, attracting those who enjoy “quiet getaways.” Among the classic seaside resorts, Mędzyzdroje, Reval, Poberowo, and Pustkowo are drawing increasing interest.
“We’re pleased—we have tourists from Poland, Germany, and the Czech Republic; everyone praises the service, feels at home, and knows that fall on the Baltic coast means high quality and relatively low prices. This is especially noticeable when tourists from Germany arrive and are genuinely surprised by the prices,” notes Grzegorz Dobosz, owner of the Hamilton Hotel in Świnoujście.
Everything indicates that the best period for business owners is still ahead. Many establishments have already prepared offers for New Year’s, Christmas, and local activities, such as “winter swimming.”
Such packages have been in high demand in previous years, which only confirms that Western Pomerania and the Baltic region have become year-round resorts.
