The Race For The U.S. Senate In Mississippi Is Decided By A Few Dozen Votes
- 4.11.2026, 16:14
The suspense will last until the very end.
A mere 43 votes separate the candidates for the U.S. Senate from Mississippi. Democrat Scott Colom received 462,821 votes, edging out incumbent Republican Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, who received 462,778 votes. As of now, 95.6% of the ballots have been counted, according to WLOX (translation by Charter97.org).
Independent candidate Ty Pinkins received 19,935 votes. None of the major candidates has declared victory.
There will be no runoff election, as this is a general election for Congress; the candidate who receives the most votes will win the Senate seat.
