"They'll Hit Us Hard": Panic Breaks Out In Russia Over The Democrats' Victory In The U.S. Election

Z-propagandists are shocked by Trump's crushing defeat.

The midterm elections in the United States and the Republican Party’s sensational defeat in those elections became the main topic of the day for Russian propagandists and Z-channels. They expect problems for Russia. Dialog.UA took a closer look at the details.

All propagandists agree that such a serious defeat for the Republicans greatly weakens U.S. President Donald Trump, on whom the Kremlin had evidently been counting. One of Russia’s leading Z-bloggers, Yuri Podolyaka, called the U.S. leader a “lame duck who will now be pecked at by anyone and everyone.”

Propagandist Dmitry Borisenko expressed the same opinion, but he also warned that the events in Washington would come back to haunt Russia. “These victories (by the Democrats—ed.) have broken one of Donald’s legs. You could say that starting today, Trump has become a lame duck, with all the consequences that entails for our country and, even more so, for our leadership,” — wrote the propagandist.

Z-correspondent Ilya Tumanov (Fighterbomber) tried to pretend that Russia was “neither here nor there” regarding the events in the U.S. And he immediately warned Russians that U.S. policy toward Russia would toughen. “Of the major events overnight, perhaps the most significant was the U.S. election, in which Trump’s party lost… Now Fedrych’s influence will wane. Now Trump and the Democrats will be at each other’s throats for a while, trying to show who’s in charge, but a little later everything will go back to the way it was. Or maybe not. This doesn’t affect us one way or the other, and in any case, we need to start preparing for the fact that in two years a very, very anti-Russian president will come to power in the U.S. and tighten the screws on us—which Trump had loosened just a bit—as tight as they can go,” the propagandist wrote.

The collaborator Oleg Tsarev reacted most nervously. He lashed out at Russian propagandists who are mocking Trump’s defeat. “I see some bloggers and journalists are in a cheerful mood today… They’re posting memes: Trump on the ‘Titanic,’ Trump being carried out of the White House and thrown into the trash can. I don’t get what’s so funny about this. For the next two years, Congress will be led by people who consider the current aid to Ukraine insufficient and the sanctions too lenient. All of Trump’s failures will hit us hard. It certainly won’t get any easier for us. It will get harder,” he emphasized.
