Politicians from the U.S. Democratic Party are preparing to launch an investigation into the actions of Donald Trump during his presidency. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and members of the U.S. president’s family may be involved in the probe, Reuters reported, citing comments from dozens of members of Congress, lawyers, and political consultants.

Democratic Party representatives had previously called for the immediate initiation of Trump’s impeachment proceedings following the November 3 midterm elections. However, they decided to first gather legal grounds for the proceedings, the article notes. Among those potentially implicated in the investigations, the agency mentions the president’s sons, Musk, and a number of White House staff members.

“We expect a massive volume of aggressive and wide-ranging investigations targeting both the [U.S. president’s] administration and the private sector,” said a specialist at the American firm Arnold & Porter Rachel Cotton, a specialist in U.S. congressional oversight.
