The occupiers' positions were simultaneously attacked by 28 ground-based robotic systems equipped with grenade launchers.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces have begun using ground-based robotic systems (GRS) to storm the positions of Russian occupiers. One such attack was captured on video by the occupiers themselves, according to Dialog.UA.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched assaults using MLRS in the Lyman sector, which has been one of the hottest sections of the front for many months now.
In the summer of 2026, the Defense Forces there launched Operation "Vivaldi," which took place in several phases. By October, Ukrainian troops in the Liman sector had liberated 277 square kilometers of territory and 16 settlements.
Russian occupiers claim that 28 vehicles were involved in the attack by Ukrainian ground-based robotic systems near Lyman. Most of the Ukrainian ground robotic systems were equipped with automatic grenade launchers. In addition, kamikaze robots took part in the assault.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have several different types of domestic and foreign ground-based robotic systems in service. They are being used more and more frequently in combat against Russian occupiers. According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, the number of URC missions has increased 3.3-fold since the beginning of 2026. While Ukrainian ground-based robotic systems carried out 7,511 combat missions in January 2026, that number rose to 25,143 missions in August.
