A Landing Ship And Thousands Of U.S. Marines Have Arrived In The Middle East

On Friday, March 27, U.S. Marines arrived in the Middle East on a landing ship that has thousands of troops.

The U.S. Central Command Middle East reported this on social media X.

"U.S. Sailors and Marines aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli (LHA 7) arrived in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility on March 27," the publication said.

The command noted that the America-class ship is the flagship of the Tripoli landing group of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Force.

The ship has about 3,500 Sailors and Marines, as well as transport and strike aircraft, landing and tactical assets.
