Trump Persistently Lures Lukashenko To The U.S.

The U.S. President personally called the dictator to the so-called Peace Council.

US President Donald Trump wrote in Truth Social network that he is looking forward to meeting with Lukashenko.

The White House head recalled that his special envoy to Belarus John Cole achieved the release of 250 more political prisoners after talks with Alexander Lukashenko.

Trump said that since May last year, the total number of those released in Belarus has exceeded 500 people. He also thanked Lukashenko for this step and said he expects to meet with him at the next meeting of the so-called Peace Council.

It should be recalled that Lukashenko ignored the first meeting of the Peace Council, held in Washington on February 19, citing logistical problems and being busy with business in Belarus.

Experts suggest that Putin may have forbidden the Belarusian dictator to meet with Trump. Another version is Lukashenko is afraid of repeating the fate of Venezuelan ruler Nicolas Maduro, who negotiated with the United States and then was captured by American special forces.
