The U.S. has several candidates.

US President Donald Trump has made it clear that he wants a complete change of leadership in Iran. He said he has several candidates for the role of a "good leader".

This is reported by NBC News.

"We want to come in and clean it up. We don't want someone who's going to rebuild everything for 10 years," Trump emphasized.

He added that the US wants Iran to have a "good leader," and Washington already has one in mind.

"We have several people who I think would do a good job," Trump said, declining to name anyone by name.

He added that he was taking every step to ensure that the people on his list survive and survive the war.

"Yes, we're watching them," the White House chief said.

When asked who would still lead Iran in the future, the US president had this to say:

"I don't know, but at some point I'm going to get a call asking me who I'd like to see in office," Trump said, adding that he was "only being a little sarcastic when he says that."

The White House chief also reacted to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi's remarks that Tehran is ready for a ground invasion by U.S. and Israeli troops. He called it a "waste of time," emphasizing that he is not thinking about bringing in the army at the moment.

"It's a waste of time. They have lost everything. They've lost everything they could lose," Trump emphasized, adding that the tempo and intensity of the strikes is being maintained.
