An Important Hub Of The Russian Oil Industry Is On Fire In The Krasnodar Region

On the evening of March 7, drones attacked en masse in Russia's Krasnodar region, where the Armavir linear production and dispatch station (LPDS) caught fire after a series of explosions. A large-scale fire has risen on the site.

Monitoring channels wrote about a series of explosions in Armavir around 22:00 hours. Eyewitnesses captured footage of a drone attack on the city and reported "incoming" gunfire.

Russian authorities quickly confirmed the UAV attack. RosSMI, citing an official comment from the local operational headquarters, wrote that an oil depot in Armavir caught fire as a result of the shelling. The authorities involved 91 firefighters and 26 units of equipment to eliminate the fire.

At the same time, CyberBorosno analysts examined footage from the Armavir site and found that the Armavir LPDS may have actually been affected by the attack. This is a hub for pipeline logistics of petroleum products, where fuel is pumped through a trunk pipeline and then accumulated in a tank farm. It is then shipped by rail.

A defeat of this important facility for the Russian oil industry could have many consequences, OSINT experts write:

disrupt a section of pipeline;

decrease pumping volumes;

create a shortage in the tank buffer;

stop the railroad loading system through which fuel is distributed further into Russian regions.

The station is called "one of the links in the energy chain" by analysts, because of which damage to the facility affects the entire system of transportation of oil products in the region.
