Iran responded by launching rockets toward Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has launched a new wave of attacks on Tehran and other parts of Iran, the agency said in its Telegram channel.

"Preliminary report: the Israel Defense Forces have launched large-scale strikes against targets of Iran's terrorist regime in Tehran and other parts of Iran," the report said.

The Iran International channel in X published footage from the city of Qom showing a column of smoke rising toward the sky.

The IDF said it had detected Iranian missiles flying toward Israeli territory. Defense systems have been put on alert and residents have been told to take cover.
