Starmer Talked To Trump

The US President and British Prime Minister discussed the situation in the Middle East.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke to the U.S. president Sunday afternoon after a barrage of criticism from Donald Trump, who on Saturday told Britain he no longer needed it in a war with Iran.

The conversation was reported by The Guardian.

A British government spokesman said the leaders "began by discussing the latest situation in the Middle East and military cooperation between Britain and the United States through the use of British air force bases to support the collective self-defense of partners in the region."

He added that Starmer "expressed his sincere condolences to President Trump and the American people on the deaths of six American soldiers."

The spokesman said the two leaders "look forward to meeting again."
