Netanyahu Appealed To The Iranian People To Revolt

Israel's prime minister recorded a video message.

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has published a video message to the Iranian people on the X network. It is accompanied by cinematic music and images of crowds of people carrying Israeli flags and a flag with a lion and a sun, sometimes inaccurately referred to as the "Shah's" flag.

In the address, Netanyahu said Israel seeks to "liberate Iran [...] from the yoke of tyranny" and called on the Iranian people to "stand up" and end the ruling regime. "I believe that if you stand up in the moment of truth, the day is not far off when Israel and Iran will once again become brave friends," the Israeli prime minister said.

Israeli politicians, including Netanyahu, have repeatedly said publicly that they hope a war with Iran will lead to a change of political regime in that country.
