Trump: Iran Deal Will Be "a Day Or Two Away"

  • 17.04.2026, 21:34

The U.S. president announced the final stage of negotiations.

Iran has agreed to indefinitely suspend its nuclear program and will not receive any frozen assets from the US. A final agreement to end the war could be signed as soon as the next few days.

U.S. President Donald Trump said this, Bloomberg reports.

Donald Trump said negotiations on a long-term peace plan with Tehran are in the final stages.

He said delegations are expected to meet this weekend and the agreement itself could be concluded "within the next day or two."

The main condition of the agreements is Iran's complete renunciation of nuclear development.

Trump stressed that the moratorium will have no expiration date.

"Without any years, it's indefinite," the American president stressed, commenting on the duration of the suspension of Iran's nuclear program.

Trump also denied information about the possible unfreezing of $20 billion in Iranian assets in exchange for the transfer of enriched uranium stockpiles.

He repeated "no" several times when asked about returning any funds to Tehran.
