The Russians are hiding in the pipelines.

Ukrainian defense forces continue to resist Russian occupiers in Sumy region and have successes in the north of the region. Recently, the AFU fighters took new positions near the settlement of Andreevka.

In turn, Putin's troops are trying to penetrate Sumy region through pipelines. This is according to an analysis by the Institute for the Study of War.

Situation in Sumy Region

Geolocation videos published on April 21 show Ukrainian troops taking positions in northern Andreyevka (north of the city of Sumy). According to ISW analysts, Ukrainian servicemen have probably liberated Andreevka.

The experts also said that the occupiers continue to use pipelines to infiltrate Sumy region. A representative of the Ukrainian battalion of unmanned systems operating in the Sumy direction said that Russian troops have been crawling along the pipelines for several days before attacking, trying to evade Ukrainian drones and advance stealthily.

The enemy has begun regrouping

Russian sources reportedly began replacing some Russian airborne units in the northern Sumy region after reports that Russian forces plan to redeploy airborne units from the Sumy region to the Kherson direction.

A source reporting on the activities of Russia's Northern Group of Forces said that units of the 9th Motorized Rifle Regiment (18th Motorized Rifle Division, 11th Army Corps, Leningrad Military District) are gradually replacing units of the 119th Airborne Regiment.

The Russian military command plans to redeploy parts of the 119th and 51st VDV regiments from Sumy region to Kherson region and replace them with units of the 9th Motorized Rifle Regiment and the 80th Brigade. The ISW said that units of the 106th Airborne Division suffered heavy losses in Sumy Region and probably need to rest and re-form on a less active section of the front.
