He is now in a colony in the Saratov region.

The citizen of Belarus Alexei Tomashov was sentenced in 2024 for "espionage" in favor of Ukraine to 14 years of imprisonment in a strict regime colony. He is now in colony No. in the town of Pugachev in the Saratov region. As Radiyo Svaboda was told by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, Alexei was kept in a SHIZO for a long time.

The man was detained on May 8, 2024, presumably in occupied Sevastopol, on suspicion of passing information to Ukrainian special services about the locations and movements of units, weapons and special equipment of the Russian Armed Forces, as well as "disloyalty to Russian policy." The sentence was handed down by the Sevastopol court.

According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, after his detention he was assigned outpatient compulsory observation and treatment by a psychiatrist, and the sentence did not contain any specific charges.

"It was ruled that Oleksiy could transfer, could harm and many other things 'could', for which, in fact, the man was deprived of freedom," the center said.
