Goods and services that are controlled by the government outpace inflation.

Annual inflation in Belarus amounted to 5.4% in April 2026. It was the same in March, reports the National Statistics Committee. But the reports of the agency revealed something curious, writes "Salidarnasts".

So, the core inflation in April slowed down to 5.9% compared to 2025. In March it was 6.4% month-on-month last year, in February - 6.8%.

But regulated goods and services, despite strict state control and limits set by the MART, exceeded this level: in April their growth accelerated to 6.5% (in March and February was 4.4% and 3.9%, respectively).

Reminder, for the current year, the government has set a target for the growth of prices for goods and services at 7%, and the head of the National Bank Roman Holovchenko says that so far the situation is developing even better than predicted. But last year similar plans could not be fulfilled.
