Pistorius Says Tipping Point In Russia's War On Ukraine

  • 13.05.2026, 13:26

The Ukrainians have an advantage both economically and on the battlefield.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius sees signs of a turning point in Russia's war against Ukraine.

According to Die Welt.

"I believe that the Ukrainians do have an advantage. Russia is going through a period of weakness both economically and domestically and on the battlefield," Pistorius said after his visit to Ukraine.

The Ukrainians are making significant progress, he said. Strikes against Russian military infrastructure behind the lines are becoming more accurate and are getting results.

In Ukrainian command posts in the Zaporizhzhya and Dnipropetrovsk regions, Pistorius was shown how drones are being used to reconnoiter and counter Russian weapons systems and soldiers.

He also had the opportunity to observe with his own eyes the operations that are ongoing. Ukraine has developed its capabilities, especially since last year, from which the German armed forces are expected to benefit as part of a strategic partnership.

"Today many people are talking about a decisive phase of the war, possibly in favor of Ukraine," the German minister said.
