Trump Meets With Xi Jinping In China

The U.S. president arrived at Tiananmen Square.
US President Donald Trump has arrived at Tiananmen Square in Beijing, where he began his meeting with Chinese leader Si Jinping.
This is reported by CNN.
At this point, Donald Trump's motorcade has already arrived at Tiananmen Square, in the heart of the Chinese capital, after which he got out of the auto. Outside the Great Hall of the People, Xi Jinping was waiting for him.
The Chinese leader greeted the US president with a handshake, after which Trump shook hands and greeted the Chinese and American delegations.
Trump is directly accompanied by members of his national security and economic team, including U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth, Trade Representative Jamison Greer and U.S. Treasury Department chief Scott Bessent.
In addition to Trump administration officials, a delegation of CEOs from companies including Jensen Huang (Nvidia) and Tim Cook (Apple) are also in attendance.
After the handshakes, the welcoming ceremony kicked off. Trump and Xi Jinping walked the red carpet while uniformed soldiers lined up in formation to the sound of solemn music.
A group of children also stood next to the red carpet, greeting each other, jumping and waving Chinese and American flags and bouquets of flowers.
What's expected
According to CNN, the two leaders have a busy day ahead, including a bilateral meeting followed by a cultural visit to the Temple of Heaven and a state banquet.
The leaders will meet directly at the Great Hall of the People. The building is an important landmark and is often used for political events such as the annual meeting of the legislature and the top advisory body.
Today's meeting will see Trump and Xi Jinping discuss pressing issues including technology, trade and Iran.
As of publication time, Trump and Xi Jinping have already entered the Great Hall where they will have their meeting.
