Kazakhstan And Turkey To Establish A Joint Venture For The Production Of UAVs

Kazakhstan and Turkey will establish a joint venture for the production of drones. The corresponding document was signed by President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This was reported by Tokayev's press service.

The agreement provides for joint production of Anka drones. These are Turkish reconnaissance and strike UAVs of medium altitude and long flight duration. They have been in operation since 2013. In 2023, Anka-S drones were accepted for pilot military tests in Kazakhstan.

In addition, the heads of the two countries signed a memorandum and agreement on oil production between Kazmunaigas and Turkish Oil Corporation (Trkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortakl). In the holding Samruk Kazyna, which includes Kazmunaigas, noted that under the agreement the companies will attract oil service assets to produce hydrocarbons in Kazakhstan, Turkey and other countries. The memorandum sets the terms for cooperation in the oil and gas sector on investments, joint projects, "including in Kazakhstan's sector of the Caspian Sea."

Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Kazakhstan today on a state visit. According to him, Turkey is now implementing more than 500 projects in the republic worth about $30 billion. The volume of trade between the two countries has approached $10 billion by the end of 2025.
