For how long will the fire subside?
Israel and Lebanon have agreed to extend the ceasefire for 45 days. This comes after U.S. President Donald Trump first announced such a truce on April 16.
It was reported by Reuters.
The U.S. State Department said the cessation of hostilities would continue to ensure further progress in peace talks between the two sides.
State Department spokesman Tommy Piggott called the talks between Israel and Lebanon held in Washington "very productive" and said the countries would resume talks on June 2 and 3.
The agency emphasized that this week's talks were the third meeting between the sides since Israel stepped up air attacks on Lebanon after Hezbollah fired rockets into Israel, three days after the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran began.
