Ukraine's recent attack on the tank Prushovaya tank farm near Novorossiysk in the Russian Federation has become a new stage of the "drone war" against Russian oil infrastructure.

This is the opinion shared by energy expert and researcher at Carnegie's Sergei Vakulenko Berlin Background.

He emphasizes that the object could be one of the most vulnerable and significant targets, as it is connected with the export infrastructure of the port of Novorossiysk and can directly affect the volume of oil shipments.

According to him, judging by satellite data, the strike was large-scale - there could be about a dozen hits on the object. The expert assumes that this is either the result of a large number of drones overcoming the air defense, or the use of new types of UAVs.

Vakulenko also notes that in general, Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries have become more systematic: they affect not only primary refining units, but also complex technological units of secondary refining, which depend on imported equipment and are critical for the production of quality fuel.

He adds that such attacks are probably aimed at the largest centers of fuel consumption - Moscow and St. Petersburg,
