Georgia and Turkey will help.

Armenia has for the first time opened a railroad connection with the European Union via Georgia and Turkey. Further expansion of transportation routes with Turkey, Azerbaijan and Iran is planned.

The Akhalkalaki (Georgia) - Kars (Turkey) railroad is now open for exports from Armenia and imports to the country. This was announced by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, "Novosti-Armenia" reports.

"I am glad to announce that the Akhalkalaki-Kars railroad, as well as Azerbaijan's railroad, is now open for exports from Armenia and imports to Armenia. This is a great event in the economic life of our country. I thank my partners from Turkey and Georgia," Pashinyan said.

According to him, Armenia currently has a railroad connection with Russia through the territories of Georgia and Azerbaijan, and further - through Russia and Kazakhstan - with China.

"Now railroad connection is also possible with the European Union through the territories of Georgia and Turkey. Armenia-Turkey, Armenia-Azerbaijan and then Armenia-Iran via Nakhchivan are expected to be opened in the nearest future. We will witness these developments in the near future as a result of the realization of the TRIPP project," Pashinyan noted.
