Ukraine is turning into an independent player in the global market of military technologies. Military-technical cooperation with partners and the development of its own military-industrial complex (MIC) are becoming the foundation not only for the geopolitical weight of the state, but also for the financing of the army and the future post-war reconstruction of the country.

- Everything that Ukraine gains for the Russian Federation is a big disadvantage and a big blow. Especially when Ukraine begins to win in regions and states where historically there was a very strong Russian influence, and now Ukraine and its partners are beating the Russian Federation out of there. These are the cases of Syria, Azerbaijan, the cases of the fact that President Zelensky yesterday flew to Armenia for the European Political Community summit promoted by France, which for Putin is almost the bastion of evil in Europe after Britain. So for the Russian Federation it is all very painful," he stressed.
For Ukraine, defense cooperation with different countries is not only a matter of diplomacy. Each such format has a direct impact on Ukraine's economic stability and geopolitical weight on the world arena.
- If we look at the economic component, during such a long war, our economy is very dependent on the investments of our partners, on foreign money, on grant aid, military aid and so on. And Ukraine [in view of this] has to think about how to start feeding itself in such conditions. Ukraine can become a center for security and arms exports, because we have a good, very good decision by President Zelensky to increase payments to the military. This is something that should have been done a long time ago and should have been done without fail. And this decision has been taken. We understand what kind of budget expenditures this is, and Ukraine needs to earn this money somewhere. Therefore, it is very important that we will develop comprehensive military-technical cooperation with almost the whole world, and soon we will move to the concept of mass export of both weapons and technologies, - the expert emphasized.
The issue of post-war reconstruction is also very important for Ukraine. According to preliminary estimates, the scale of necessary investments may reach colossal sums, which are difficult to predict definitively, noted Bohdan Popov.
- We understand that reconstruction of entire cities and regions will be required, and these are colossal sums. They also need to be taken from somewhere. Ukrainian military technology is something that can bring us a huge amount of money both in the military budget and in the budget of post-war reconstruction of the state, - he said.
Another strategic aspect concerns geopolitics. Today Ukraine is turning into an independent and important participant of the global market of technologies and military-industrial complex.
- Previously, only big countries of Europe, USA, Asian giants and Russia were present on this market. Now we are competitive with absolutely all of them, because the price-quality ratio of Ukrainian military-industrial complex is the best. It is not difficult to understand why. Because Ukraine in the conditions of war adapts itself to what we need very massively, quickly and at the same time to fly and kill. And here we perfectly cope with adaptability to the reality of modern warfare, plus again the relevance of our technologies, experience of use, codification tested in combat conditions, which is very important, adds to the price and demand for such equipment. Therefore, Ukraine has become a very strong player in this area and may soon squeeze out those states that have been historically fixed on this market as dominants," summarized Bohdan Popov.
