Belarusian Banks Have Launched A "flash Mob" Involving Foreign Currency

  • 20.06.2026, 11:14

A uniform fee is being introduced for services involving foreign "cash."

Several Belarusian banks are introducing a new policy regarding Russian rubles. They will begin charging a fee for depositing cash in this currency into a checking account at the teller window, according to "Zerkalo".

As a reminder, Alfa-Bank previously announced that starting July 14, it would introduce a fee for depositing Russian rubles in cash at the teller window into a checking account. This fee will amount to 5% of the amount and will apply to non-resident customers.

Several other banks have followed suit. Among them is Sberbank: the fee will be the same as Alfa-Bank’s. For accounts opened on or after June 24 of this year, the fee for foreign nationals will take effect on that same date, while for existing accounts, it will take effect on July 20.

“Technobank” also announced that it is introducing a fee for this service. It will amount to 2% of the amount.

A similar fee will also be introduced by two other banks—“MTBank” and “BNB-Bank.” It will be 5% of the amount.

The banks have launched a “flash mob”—introducing the same fee for services involving foreign currency in cash.
