Drone Deal can help enhance safety in the air and at sea.
Ukraine has proposed that Ireland enter into a special agreement on unmanned technologies called the "Drone Deal." The new initiative is intended to enhance safety in the air and at sea through direct business cooperation.
This was reported by Charter97.org, citing a statement by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a press conference with Irish Prime Minister Míchel Martin.
During an official visit to Dublin, the Ukrainian head of state met with his Irish counterpart. Innovation was the main topic of discussion. Kyiv aims to establish direct ties between defense enterprises in both countries.
According to President Zelenskyy, Ukraine has already begun an active dialogue with Ireland regarding new technologies. This applies to both the development and production of modern systems.
Ukraine is ready to share its experience. This applies not only to the design but also to the combat use of UAVs. The president noted the importance of direct interaction between companies.
“We are proposing a ‘Drone Deal’ and the relevant technologies. This will allow us to establish direct and effective cooperation between our enterprises and companies,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Ukrainian president expects the proposal to be considered as soon as possible. Irish businesses could gain access to unique Ukrainian innovations, which would benefit both countries.
Ukraine hopes for a positive decision and that the cooperation will cover several strategic areas.
Among the priorities are:
protecting airspace from threats;
ensuring the security of maritime routes;
developing digital control systems
“We firmly believe that Ireland will view such opportunities for future cooperation favorably. This is about the security of the skies and the security of the seas,” the President of Ukraine concluded.
