Kaya Callas: We Will Continue To Raise The Price Until Russia Realizes It Cannot Win

The EU will impose new sanctions against Russia.

The head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, responded to Russia’s combined strike on Kyiv and stated that she would propose expanding sanctions against Moscow. She posted a related message on the social network X.

Callas emphasized that “words of condemnation alone will not stop the attacks on Kyiv.”

“Only continued military support for Ukraine and increased pressure on Moscow can do that,” she added.

The EU’s top diplomat noted that this week the EU began disbursing funds as part of a 90-billion-euro loan to strengthen Ukraine’s defense.

“Today I will propose imposing sanctions against more organizations supporting the Russian military-industrial complex in response to the attacks. The more Moscow attacks the civilian population, the more sanctions we need to impose. We will continue to raise the stakes until Russia realizes it cannot win,” Kallas said.

The EU’s top diplomat clarified that EU representatives in Kyiv are safe following the overnight attack and thanked them for their work “under the most difficult conditions.”
