Immediately after being appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The newly appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapaty has been placed on the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ wanted list. This is not the first time the occupying forces have issued a warrant for his arrest.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing the Russian news agency TASS.

According to the report, a special “Wanted” notice appeared in the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ wanted persons database immediately after his appointment. It is noted that he is “wanted under an article of the Criminal Code.”

It is unclear exactly what specific charges led the occupiers to place Drapaty on the wanted list.

There is no information regarding the specific article of the Russian Criminal Code.

However, this is not the first time that the Russian Investigative Committee has taken an interest in the Ukrainian major general. Previously, the Russian Investigative Committee charged Drapaty in absentia.

According to the agency, in 2017 and 2019, he, together with Viktor Nikolyuk, exercised overall command of Ukraine’s Joint Forces Operation.

Under their leadership, Ukrainian troops allegedly carried out more than 70 shelling attacks on populated areas in the so-called “DPR” and “LPR.” It is noted that 154 people were allegedly killed or wounded as a result.

The day before, on July 21, Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Mykhailo Drapaty as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He replaced Oleksandr Syrskyi in this position.

According to Bloomberg sources, 11 candidates were considered to replace Syrskyi. Mykhailo Drapaty, who previously led the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was considered the most likely candidate.

We also reported on the new commander-in-chief’s combat record. Drapaty’s achievements include breaking out of the “Izvaryn Cauldron,” halting the offensive on Kryvyi Rih, and participating in the liberation of the right bank of the Kherson region.
