Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with Donald Trump’s special envoys Steve Whitcoff and Jared Kushner ideas for resuming diplomatic efforts to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.

This was reported on Wednesday, July 22, by Axios journalist Barack Ravid in X, citing a source familiar with the situation.

“Ukrainian President Zelenskyy spoke today with President Trump’s emissaries Steve Whitcoff and Jared Kushner and discussed ideas on how to resume diplomatic efforts to end the war,” the journalist wrote.

On June 8, Zelenskyy had already spoken with Whitcoff and Kushner, calling the conversation “very positive” and thanking them for their willingness to work actively to intensify diplomatic efforts in the coming weeks. It soon became clear that the negotiations mediated by Whitcoff and Kushner had reached an impasse, as Washington shifted its focus to the conflict with Iran.
